The Association is proud of its accomplishments over the years and the role it has played in the growth and survival of Kentucky State University.  It is infinitely committed a lasting partnership with the University as it looks toward the next 100 years with renewed hope based on past events.

Some facts from our history

Atwood, in his second year of tenure as President of Kentucky State Normal and Industrial Institute for Colored Persons, saw the need to call a meeting at the “Y” Hut for establishing an Alumni Association.

Realizing a need to keep abreast of the University as it headed into the 21st century, in 1978 the Association decided to broaden its horizons by establishing the first Annual National Conference holding the initial meeting at Louisville, July 14-15, 1978.

The Kentucky State University National Alumni Association (KSUNAA) is actively engaged in a critical effort to provide academic and needed scholarship support to deserving and qualified students at our beloved Alma Mater.

In October 2019, Kentucky State University celebrated 133 years of existence. Twenty-five thousand four hundred graduates throughout the world have represented the University, and 17,800 alumni now live in the United States.  The school currently has an enrollment of approximately 1800 students.

KSU has a litany of distinguished and diverse alumni, including, but not limited to, Dr. Whitney Young, Civil Rights leader, Moneta J. Sleet, Jr., an American press photographer, Patricia Russell-McCloud, Esq., global motivational speaker, U.S Federal Judge, Tom Colbert, among many others.
